Bowie buffalograss is a new variety realesed in 2002 for a quicker establisment, with shorter growth habit and a good turf quality it was developed for a wider range of climates mainly to replace Tatanka in the northern climates but will still do well in the hotter drier climates.

Seeding Date: When soil temperatures are consistently above 60 degress F.
Seeding Rate: 2-3 lbs. seed per 1000 square feet in a firm seed bed. Seeding method. Broadcast, Brillion type seeder, slit seeder or grass drill.
Seeding depth: 0.25 -0.5 inch deep Keep soil moist through emergence Irrigate when needed to complete establishment.
Fertilization: First application 3 weeks after green up Second application 8 weeks later 1-3 lbs. actual nitrogen per 1000 square feet per growing season.
