Sales Agronomist

Location:  Shattuck, OK

Description:  W.B. Johnston Grain Co. is one of the largest privately owned agriculture based businesses in Oklahoma. We offer a unique job opportunity for a self motivated, organized individual who will contribute to our sales growth effort. This person will assist producers with agronomy needs, and reinforce sound agronomic decision making which maximizes their production potential. In addition, this position will scout fields, sell seed, fertilizer, chemicals, and precision ag products. Grain origination and assisting in the implementation of sound marketing programs are a part of the responsibilities.

Position requires a Bachelor Degree in Agronomy or agriculture related major, and two years of relevant sales experience. Strong emphasis on agronomy or crop production economics or weed science is highly preferred.

Bulk Material Handler

Location:  Shattuck, OK

Description:  Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. •Load and unload materials onto or from railcars, trucks, bins, or bays. •Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated area. •Secures lifting attachments to equipment, materials, commodities, and conveys materials to destination or signal crane, excavator to move load to destination. •Count, weigh, and record units or materials moved or handled on daily reports. •Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together. •Removes and collects samples of materials and labels with identifying information. •Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power assistance (loaders, forklifts, hoists), machines and equipment to assist machine operators. •Makes adjustments or repairs such as realigning belts or replacing rollers. •Shovel loose material such as sand, grain, or fertilizer into hoppers, buckets, wheel barrels, or trucks. •Observes gauges and adjust valves, gates to maintain specified material flows and blends. •Operate heavy machinery needed to move bulk materials to or from truck or rail to other areas. •Position and secure trucks or rail cars into unloading or receiving position, open doors, start conveyors and elevators. •Positions spouts, chutes, and conveyors over trucks, rail cars, or bins to receive or unload materials. •Record rail car or truck identifying information such as weight, volume, drafts of materials loaded or unloaded. •Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment. •Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. •Make repairs and maintain physical structure of establishment. •Some structures being catwalks, expanded metal, and ladders of excessive heights. •Clean and maintain an orderly work area. •Work in atmospheres needing respiratory masks. •Obtain permits for hazardous job-as per supervisor.

Position Requires:  The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and the ability to write simple instructions and reports. The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure. The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple written or oral instructions.

Driver/Applicator - Fairview

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used at the location. Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or needed repairs to supervisor; clean equipment. Provide outstanding customer service during any job application. Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs. Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid CDL License.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent and (1) year relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.
PREFERRED SKILLS
The employee must have the ability to safely drive various vehicles, and establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public. The must be able to communicate effectively and work independently. They must be able to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions. The must have the ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
